so, i have been. . . not so busy. i have had a lot of time to play on the computer and look for great little items like these. what do you think?! :)
but it turns out a lot of these are fairly pricey so my friend emily suggested getting iron on paper and printing and making our own onesies!! how cute is that?!
i know that a lot of people wouldn't even think about dressing their kids in skulls and crossbones, but to me it just seems to fit! i don't like the scary ones and i don't like the ones with the three teeth-like things coming down from the bottom of their heads, but these guys just seem piratey to me!
in the absence of my 44 children and 58 employees, i seem to be at a slight loss as to how to fill my time. so between making Christ-mas cookies with my mom, reorganizing the closet, unpacking, and becoming prom queen, i've been looking for onesies. if you have a better project for me, by all means, suggest away!!
and don't you worry, i have been reading my bible aloud!! :)

Interesting. I didn't know you were into pirates. :)

Some things I did to kill the time:

Buy a small journal and journal prayers for the child. I filled it up. I think it will be an awesome gift to give her someday.

Go on lots of walks. It's good for you and the baby.

Take lots of naps! Enjoy them now because you won't see them again for a long time!!! :)

I like the second one! I've seen the iron-on paper that you can use in the printer to make your own at Office Max. Don't know how well it works, but it looks like a good idea - and a fun way to fill some wayward hours. :)

Busy the hands, my friend. Try cross-stitching, quilting, sewing or embroidery. Build a birdhouse. Paint something. You could make all sorts of wonderful crafty things to use for the baby. Take a trip to Hobby Lobby and find a project. I've heard some people make casts of their pregnant bellies, if you want to go crazy.

I'm not big on skulls and crossbones because they make me think of death and dental problems, of which I have many. They certainly are popular with the teen skater kids in our area, though. I guess I just like full skeletons and spinal columns- since they make me think of my darling husband the chiropractor. :)

i love that one "arrr...change me booty" :) lol. that's great.

angela, my sister IS a pirate. she was actually a captain at one time (before she went to the O). and has quite a large pirate belt buckle. as well as many other piratey things.

someday i will captain my own ship. and maybe even have a belt buckle...

and though i am not yet fully pirate (still growing up...), i have often been mistaken for one. it is not unusual for someone to refer to me as Captain Jack Sparrow...

I'm sure if you came to E-ville, us parents that are getting our homes ready for our children could find lots of projects for you to do :o) I like the onsies...especially the booty one.
Ditto to what Angela said...I would eat, walk, nap, eat, walk, nap, eat, walk, go to bed for the night. Maybe throw in some reading & computer time in there :o)

Love it! I knew you were a pirate... and your little girl (I'm convinced it's a girl, by the way:) will look adorable in her skull and cross bones!

While becoming a rapper is my number one vote, I have another suggestion... write a book! You are such a gifted writer with wonderful insights. You could write a book about your move to Haiti and working with all of the kids at Three Angels. I would read it! I might even ask you to sign my copy:)

OR you could write a Creole language learning book and call it, "Creole Made Eas(ier)", so that I can rid myself of Mr. Wally Turnbull once and for all! You could include phrases that we might actually use one day rather than, "When you have finished cutting down the tree, take two horses to pull it over there."

dang it! cara, did my dad put you up to that? a number of people have been telling me to write a book. (and often he's behind it!)
i do think some more useful phrases are long overdue. thank you anyhow, mr turnull.

i agree with the "write a book" suggestion! dad didn't tell me to say it, i truly and personally think you should do it, sistre! you're a great writer! write a book! or at least publish "to be a fairfield". people would love it (although they wouldn't fully understand it).

You could come to Redding for a week and help me figure out what to take out of the tubs to fit other much more important stuff in!!! Well... actually since you lived in Haiti maybe you could just tell me what is important and what is not!! Because I honestly can not figure it out and the tubs are full and I'm out of room and still have more stuff I think I can't live without. UGH!! Miss you, my friend, just 4 days, 22 hours and 23 minutes until I see you. Not that I'm counting or anything.

Ok, first the iron on paper you can buy does work. Todd and I used it once and the t-shirts lasted.

LOVE the onesies!

Loved Angela's idea's here are a few more. Make a baby quilt with lots of pirate material, and making a cast of your belly...cool idea, but I must confess I am giggling from the image of your belly being covered in paper mache like substance. But also seeing it being something you and Brendy would really get in to.

And last but not least....come to Evansville!!!! I know a really good OBGYN!
